Western Kentucky First Half Jibber Jabber

Kentucky was without Raymond Sanders to start the game with a violation of team rules and then CoShik Williams went out with a hamstring issue. So it’s down to Jonathan George and Dyshawn Mobley. They did not have much success in the first half. Need the line to develop more holes and get George free. George did have big 8-yard TD to put UK on the board.

Maxwell Smith looked like a different quarterback and that’s not a good thing. Through first five drives had 67 yards and three interceptions. On their first scoring drive he had 65 and a touchdown. He looks a little rattled in the pocket and has forced throws. On their first TD drive he executed a lot of dump offs for success.

Western Kentucky’s rushing attack has been methodical and effective. It’s a power rushing game and the Cats are struggling to slow it down. They have 84 rushing yards, but are averaging just 3.4 an attempt. Antonio Andrews has got the majority of the carries and has punched it in twice from the one-yard line.

Martavious Neloms personal foul inside the 10-yard line was just inexcusable.

Taylor Windham and Mister Cobble very active today.

La’Rod King looked really good, catching six balls for 56 yards.

Kentucky has to take advantage on offense when they get the ball in WKU territory. Too many times they did not do that in the first half.

WKU roughing the passer call in final seconds of first half sets up McIntosh 47-yard attempt which he drills. Huge, huge play which gives UK momentum going into the locker room.
