Tyus Jones recently made some news with an updated version of his list of potential college destinations. The 6’1” point guard from Apple Valley, Minnesota says he has nine “main” schools, and one of those schools is Kentucky. The 2014 recruit has yet to set a timetable for when he will start trimming his list down, and he doesn’t plan to do so anytime soon. He plans on visiting Duke and North Carolina in the coming weeks, and then wants to make trips to Kentucky and Kansas.
Jones’ official list is: Kentucky, Indiana, Duke, North Carolina, Baylor, Georgetown, Iowa, Iowa State, and Kansas.
James Young started making a few recruiting waves this week when he announced he would be making an official visit to the University of Kentucky this coming weekend. Most of the rumors in recruiting circles have James Young as the next Wildcat commitment for the 2013 class. The 5-star recruit from Rochester Hills, Michigan is considered to be the 2nd best small forward, and recently had a great in-home visit with head coach John Calipari. With Young’s official visit to Kentucky being so close to his in-home visit, one has to wonder if this is a great sign for UK. A commitment from Young could aid Calipari in bringing more talent to Lexington for 2013. Stay tuned this weekend for news from Young.
Young has received offers from: Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse, Michigan State, and Arizona.
