Trio of Wildcats on CBS list of Top 50 big men

CBS is at it again with another list of something or another in college basketball. For some reason, they are fun to look at and then reference them later when they are incredibly wrong. Judging by the looks of things, CBS has a huge man-crush on Indiana’s sophomore center Cody Zeller. After picking him the Preseason Player of the Year in college basketball, of course they list him as the best big man. Gary Parrish notes that Zeller could become Player of the Year, a National Champion, and the NBA’s #! Draft Pick like UK’s Anthony Davis last year.
Nerlens Noel shows up on the list at #3. Jeff Goodman notes that you should picture Noel as a young Bill Russell. Having the ability to send shots flying, he will bring his his shot-blocking prowess to Lexington and be an immediate impact on the defensive end. He has a very long way to go on the offensive side, but will develop with time.
Scrolling down the list a little to #14, you will find fellow freshman Alex Poythress. Poythress is tabbed as possibly making the most impact of all the Kentucky freshman. He has a Strait-Up unfair scoring ability. Having the size to rise up over defenders and go through contact sets him apart. He’s also not too bad behind the three-point arc. Add the fact that he can attack the boards makes him an incredible talent.
All the way down to #44 is sophomore forward Kyle Wiltjer. Gary Parrish notes that Wiltjer is the only relevant player coming back from the 2012 National Championship team. He’ll be able to log some major minutes this year. Look for Wiltjer to light up the scoreboard from the three.
