Quarterback Reese Phillips next piece for Kentucky

Kentucky’s 2013 football recruiting added one more member this week. Reese Phillips, a 2-star Quarterback from Signal Mountain High School in Tennessee, has committed to Joker Phillips (no relation, obviously) after spending some time in Lexington on Wednesday. Reese was sitting on offers from Memphis and Middle Tennessee State, with scheduled camp appearances at a number of other SEC schools, so there’s likely some yet-to-be-seen talent in this kid.
“It’s pretty awesome up here. I was here 15 minutes and it was so home-like, so much like Chattanooga,” Phillips told the Chattanooga Times Free Press. “It was just the people in Lexington in general. Everybody seems so nice and down to earth.”
There aren’t a lot of numbers on Phillips at this point, as he just entered a starting position this last year. He started 10 games, throwing for 21 touchdowns with only 4 interceptions and a 71% pass completion. It’ll take some time to see how high Reese can climb, but he’s a solid first offensive piece of the 2013 puzzle regardless.
