National Signing Day Central

Today’s the day that highly touted quarterback recruit from Northern Kentucky Patrick Towles, and several other UK bound prep football players sign the papers and become Wildcats. It sounds like it is going to be a big day for Joker Phillips and the Kentucky staff as they expect the best recruiting class they’ve had in years. With the addition of two more solid football programs, Kentucky is going to need a huge day to help insure the future of this football program. This is the latest updated list of Kentucky signees today. All 24 have signed and faxed their letter of intent with Patrick Towles’ LOI coming in first at 7:01 a.m. Kentucky grabbed some big play makers with a ton of potential. Already it sounds like the coaching staff and fans as well as many national pundits believe this is a great incoming class for Kentucky in the 2012 season. Joker Phillips and staff also received some surprises in there in the form of running back Justin Taylor who decommitted from Alabama and also linebacker Khalid Anderson out of Mableton, Ga. who chose Kentucky over Mississippi. One guy who looks like could be a huge get for Kentucky is running back Dyshawn Mobley out of Powell, Tenn. Powell had a monster 2011 season in setting Tennessee single-season rushing records with 3,068 yards and 44 touchdowns as a senior while averaging 12.2 yards per carry. It is also being reported that QB/Athlete Jalen Whitlow, who was down to Arkansas State and Kentucky, withstood a phone call from Cam Newton on behalf of Gus Malzahn, the new head coach at Arkansas State.
