The University of Louisville has recently came to a new low. Shocked? No, I can’t say I’m shocked. However, it makes me wonder what they will try and come up with next. I’m going to diagnose this latest incident as “Little Brother syndrome”. Examples of this tragic disease are jealousy, hate, copy-cat behavior, and overall ignorance. The solution is learning to accept that you are little brother, and making the best of it. Otherwise, the public embarassment that follows the pathetic attempts to “1-up” big brother will bring mass amounts of shame and demoralizing actions.
A brand new t-shirt provided by Adidas is now available for your hilarious pleasure. The shirt represents the University of Louisville name under an Adidas symbol and the words “4 National Championships” presented horizontally in red and white. On the back of the shirt, banners are displaying the four years that Louisville claims to win these championships along with the a cardinal head proudly displayed on each one.
There are a few huge problems that I would like to bring forth. Louisville has won two national championships, not four. For some reason, the shirt represents something called an NAIB Championship, and a NIT Championship. Louisville won their NCAA National Championships in 1980 and 1986 (before I was born). The other “championships” the shirt claims are in 1948 and 1956. In ’48, that NCAA crown belongs to whom? Oh yeah, the Unversity of Kentucky!
Keep in mind, this shirt is not something that a community college drop-out is making in his basement and selling on the internet. This is a licensed Adidas product! If Kentucky played that card, Louisville would be farther behind than they already are. Kentucky won a pre-tournament Helms Championship in 1933. Then, UK won a couple of NIT Tournament Championships in 1946 and 1976. That would tally up to eleven national championships for UK, and only four for Louisville. Instead of trailing UK by six championships, they would trail Kentucky by seven. Furthermore, they would only be cementing theirselves even more as the second best program in their own state.
Do you sit at your computer and find this one of the most hilarious things you have seen today? Good! I hope it gave you a great laugh. That is all the BBN should do in times like these. We will contiue to show our class and always be the top program in college basketball. We don’t need to dig their grave for them, they already have the shovel.
