Karl Towns has decided to reclassify to the 2014 class, and will play at the University of Kentucky in 2014. At least 40 other schools had offered Towns a scholarship, and he dwindled his list down to “a battle” with Duke and Kentucky for his services. Reportedly, Towns had struggled with his upcoming decision and was so nervous about his big day he took two showers to calm his nerves. At 8:30 am, Towns made the decision to become a Wildcat.
Since he has reclassified to 2014, he is now the #7 prospect in the class. Standing at just over 7’0” without shoes, Towns is only 17 and still has some growing to do. He’s a better shooter and taller than Anthony Davis, and has a superior ability to block and rebound. He’s been working mostly on his low-post game as he gains muscle mass. On top of that, he has a very nice shooting touch, especially from three.
Miss the announcement? I got you covered! You can watch the special on the YouTube video I have posted below. While the announcers are super cheesy, the facts and statistics about Towns are good to know. His mom’s reaction is the best, enjoy.
