Jones – Man of His Word

We are used to seeing Terrence Jones pictured like this…

 Jones Man of His Word

He is tough, competitive and fierce on the court. The “big man” down low uses his physical presence to intimidate his opponents and he does that as well or better than anyone else in the country. During Kentucky’s championship run Jones laid it all on the line, he played “to the whistle” on every play. It was impressive to watch.

With that, comes the risk of injury. During the Final Four game against Louisville Jones went flying into the row of cheerleaders after a play, landing on top of them. One cheerleader, Jerica Logue, faced the brunt of it suffering a minor injury to her head that required four stitches. Logue left the game to receive the stitches, but was able to come back to cheer on the Cardinals.

Jones felt horrible about the situation. He even said after the game that he would bring her flowers to apologize. Last night, he honored that commitment. Jones walked into Louisville’s practice and delivered the flowers to Logue.

“I just had to keep to my word,” Jones said. “It went well. I was nervous walking in here. I’ve never been to cheer practice before.”

Logue said, “I was surprised. I think it’s really nice of him. I know he said he was going to do it, but I didn’t actually think he would.”

What a sweetheart.
