James Young Decision Set for Thursday

JamesYoung display image 300x217 James Young Decision Set for ThursdayJames Young will decide his college destination on Thursday at 5pm ET on ESPNU. Young has long been considered a Kentucky lean, and there would be no surprise if he decides to come to Lexington. Young will decide between Kansas, Michigan State, Syracuse, and Kentucky.

After visiting Kentucky only two weeks ago, Young was strongly considering a Big Blue Madness visit. With BBM just two days away, maybe Young wants to attend BBM as a committed Wildcat. With Young’s commitment, head coach John Calipari would have received three Top-10 commitments in the 2013 class, and not nearly done. With three dynamic perimeter players, those guys alone could become a nightmare matchup for any defense. Maybe you could throw in a junior Kyle Wiltjer and his three-point shooting ability, and that is Strait-Up scary!

What about the Harrison twins and Young playing together? Can they coexist effectively? The answer is an astounding yes. Young is very versatile and can play multiple positions. At 6’6” 210 lbs., he is at his best in the open floor driving toward the basket. He also has a very sweet shooting stroke, and could burn any defender trying to stop the fast break. Because of Young’s shooting ability, the driving lanes could become wide open for the Harrison twins. In Kentucky’s offense, these perimeter players have the ability to shine with other great perimeter guys. This would definitely be the case. If Kentucky adds Julius Randle for some low post muscle, the class skyrockets even more. Add a reclassified Andrew Wiggins? The 2013 class could go down as the best of all-time.
