Jabari Parker is the next big thing in basketball. The 6’6” Chicago sensation plays at the same high school as former Calipari point guard Derrick Rose. When Parker released his official list of schools, the Kentucky Wildcats made the list along with a slew of other schools. However, his high school coach has recently come forward with a little more insight into the high school senior’s recruitment. He believes that Parker may not give Georgetown or Kentucky an in-home visit. It’s rare in the John Calipari era that Kentucky has not been of high interest to such a high profile recruit. Many close to the situation believe that with fellow Chicagoan Anthony Davis already coming to Kentucky and winning a national championship makes Parker want to call another school his very own. Michigan State believes to be the early favorite for Parker’s services. A great coach, chance to win a national title, and close to home are other factors for Parker. Kentucky has never looked in good standing with Parker, and I can’t imagine him in Kentucky blue. Never count Calipari out, but this recruit may go elsewhere.
Marcus Lee is a 6’9” elite center for the Class of ’13. Lee recently had an in-home visit with Kentucky head coach John Calipari and raved to the media about how well the visit went. Marcus has also been on campus to visit the Ricky P. and the Louisville Cardinals, saying the campus is “amazing”. Lee resides in California and has the Golden Bears on his final list, along with Kentucky and Louisville. He’s extremely long and a strong shot-blocker, and has been ranked as high as the 15th best senior in the class.
Currently, Marcus Lee is still scheduled to appear on Kentucky’s campus for Big Blue Madness.
