Calipari reveals number assignments

John Calipari took to Twitter to reveal the 2012-2013 basketball squad’s new jersey numbers. Like any backwards-thinking modern team, the guards are wearing the big numbers, the centers cling to the single digits, and there’s no semblance of order. At least there won’t be any 99′s or 00′s making an appearance this year.
The number assignments revealed by Calipari are as follows.
- Nerlens Noel – #3
- Jon Hood – #4
- Jarrod Polson – #5
- Archie Goodwin – #10
- Twany Beckham – #11
- Ryan Harrow – #12
- Sam Malone – #13
- Willie Cauley-Stein – #15
- Alex Poythress – #22
- Brian Long – #32
- Kyle Wiltjer – #33
- Julius Mays – #34
Like I said: the center is number three, a guard is the highest number on the team, and the tallest guy on the team is in the teens. What’s the world of numbering coming to these days?
