Young Basketball Recruiting News for your Monday

After having an official visit to Kentucky’s campus last weekend, the rumors have spread that the Wildcats are the favorite for 2013 small forward James Young. The Michigan native burst onto the scene after a great summer in the AAU circuit. Young had to wait a little longer than most other recruits to receive his Kentucky offer, but after the summer was over he got what he wanted. It appears now that he may take that offer and run right to Lexington with it. Many felt that he may try and pull the commitment trigger on his visit to Lexington, so I think it’s only a matter of time before Young is officially a ‘Cat. Before the official visit to Kentucky, his only other consideration was Syracuse.

If James Young commits to Kentucky soon, you will notice the recruiting dominoes start to fall just a little. It seems when one recruit pulls the trigger, then more of them want to start announcing their college choices. With Young’s commitment, Calipari can use the new ‘Cat to his advantage. Already having a great player like Young committed to the ‘Cats, can set up another top recruiting class for Kentucky. As always, stay tuned.
