Basketball News and Notes

Today was picture day for the UK men’s basketball team. I know that everyone has their phobias about taking bad pictures. With a guy like Kyle Wiltjer behind the camera, how could you not have a perfect smile for the camera? Kyle took over the photoshoot and used his three-goggle eye to perfect some shots for the BBN.
Other news and notes:
From Coach:
John Calipari tweets out that he had a great day and was able to workout with his four big men after their first day of class. Noel, Poythress, Cauley-Stein, and Wiltjer took part, and Calipari said they looked very good. He also revealed he’s “gotta” come up with a way to incorporate them all into the same lineup. That is a Strait beast collection of size!
Recruiting:
Tyler Roberson, a 6’7” 200 lb. forward from NJ (Class of 2013) said that he recently spoke with Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua. He fully expects the coaching staff to watch him play a couple of times this season. An offer could depend upon how those visits go. Currently, Roberson already has offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida, Syracuse, and Kansas.
Upon being asked, highly touted 2013 recruit Julius Randle recently stated that he would definitely consider playing at Kentucky with the likes of the Harrison Twins and Andrew Wiggins. Strait beast!
Speaking of that Andrew Wiggins fella’, his big brother recently spoke with reporters about Andrew’s recruiting process and who he feels would be the best school for his little bro. He stated that he hopes Wiggins elects to go to the University of Kentucky to play his college ball. The 2014 recruit is in strong considerations to become a 2013 recruit because he feels he is readily prepared for the college game. Does big brother know best?
Former Cats in the NBA:
Josh Harrellson is said to be working out for a spot on the Miami Heat roster. It may be a little hot for “Jorts” in Miami, but teaming up with LeBron could add a ring to the big fella’s trophy case. We wish him the best!
