Anthony Davis named SEC Player of the Week

I said on the radio show yesterday that I thought Anthony Davis has wrapped of National Defensive Player of the Year honors and that he is quickly approaching National Player of the Year. Well, this morning he was named the SEC Player of the Week after averaging 20 points and knocking down 15 of his 17 shot attempts. He also averaged 8.0 rebounds and 7.5 blocks per game. Not too bad.
Somehow, Florida’s Bradley Beal was named Freshman of the Week. I thought Davis was a freshman. How do you win Player of the Week as a freshman and not win freshman of the week? Makes none sense.
Who Cares? The Gators come to Rupp tomorrow.
