Anthony Davis makes the grade

AD23 Anthony Davis makes the grade

Anthony Davis played in his first NBA action last night. The New Orleans Hornets played host to another former Wildcat Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and the Charlotte Bobcats. Davis scorched MKG’s new ‘Cats with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 block. MKG finished with a respectable 10pts., 3 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The NBA got their first glimmer of just how athletic and versatile the former NCAA Player of the Year can be. Facing up defenders and scoring in so many different ways. Former Duke guard Austin Rivers said of Davis “He doesn’t need to post up to score.” As Kentucky fans learned in the National Championship game, AD23 doesn’t even have to score to impact the game.

At the start of today’s tip-off luncheon with John Calipari, Anthony Davis received some praise from his former coach. Calipari spoke to the crowd and stated that Davis had received a 3.89 GPA in his last semester at Kentucky. Bob Knight was unavailable for comment.
