2013 Football Schedule Released

The University of Kentucky has released next season’s football schedule. From the looks of things, the schedule gets a little more daunting for the ‘Cats. All of the games in the SEC remain the same except for one. The SEC West opponent was Arkansas, but they have been replaced by Alabama.
All the rest are the opposite home/away format. The non-conference schedule has the ‘Cats playing Western Kentucky in Nashville, Miami (OH), Louisville, and Alabama State. Here’s a look at the schedule:
August 31st: Western Kentucky (Nashville)
September 7th: Miami (OH)
September 14th: Louisville
September 21st: Open
September 28th: Florida
October 5th: @ South Carolina
October 12th: Alabama
October 19th: Open
October 26th: @ Mississippi State
November 2nd: Alabama State
November 9th: Missouri
November 16th: @ Vanderbilt
November 23rd: @ Georgia
November 30th: Tennessee
Kentucky will start off the season in a neutral site game, then have two home games before a bye week. With only one non-conference game being outside of the friendly confines of Commonwealth Stadium, the ‘Cats will not play on the road in the SEC until October 5th when they travel to Columbia to face the South Carolina Gamecocks. If you have to play in the SEC, that’s not a bad way to start off the schedule. At South Carolina and then Alabama will be loads of fun before having another bye week. With Louisville, Florida, Alabama, Missouri, and Tennessee coming to Lexington, there are plenty of opportunities to show some improvement from this season’s disappointments. The most daunting road game looks to be South Carolina, but that’s better than going to Alabama, LSU, or Arkansas.
